Moderate shallow earthquake at least 100 km away from populated areas. This is the (active)  volcano island of Niuafo’ou, closest to the epicenter. Niuafo’ou is a shield volcano with a crater lake 23 meters above sea level.

200 km out in the Pacific, right on a fault line

Out in the Sea, 115 km from Tokyo’s airport Narita.

Moderate earthquake in a non populated area.

A few smaller valley villages like Skazar and Kalat at a distance of ca. 30 km.
Epicenter is just under a mountain summit of nearly 6,000 meter ‘18,000 ft). Normally we would label this quake as orange, but because of  the depth we have labeled it as green. Landslides are a continuous treat to this area when an earthquake strikes.  Although these are small mountain villages, one can see very clearly on the satellite images of Skazar (Eskazar) that there are a lot of houses and extensive farming is going on in the river bed.
