Earthquake Report comment :
The earthquake occurred at 11:53 local time (noon)
Gdacs issued a number of Green Earthquake and Green Tsunami reports.
Early calculations of Gdacs did mention a max. tsunami wave of 1 meter.
NOAA has issued also a bulletin stating that NO widespread tsunami would be generated.
The earthquake epicenter was on nearly the same location than the many other earthquakes occurring the last several days. All epicenters were located in the immediate vicinity of the fault line.
Although the Magnitude is very spectacular, the Felt reports received by USGS have a maximum Mercalli value of V = moderate shaking
It can be expected that many aftershocks would strike the area. Hopefully on the same location, as this will be in between 50 and 100 km from populated areas.
