Earthquake Report comment :
Epicenter in the sea to the south of Irian Jaya. 128 km (80 miles) N (353°) from Dobo, Aru Islands, Indonesia
This very powerful earthquake doesn’t look dangerous to as the distance to the closest shoreline seems to be at least 70 km. The underwater slopes near the epicenter seems to be moderate, thus the chance on even a local avalanche generated tsunami seems very limited to none.
