Tajikistan – M 5.4 – Moderately dangerous earthquake near the Nurek Dam (update 1)

Update 1 (August 4, 6:41 AM) :
The quake could be felt in some other regions of Tajikistan as well. The tremor measuring 4.0 was felt in Roghun and intensity of the tremor felt in Norak was 3.4, the Dushanbe seismology station reported.  No injury or damage was reported, according to the source.

Earthquake Report comment :
With a depth of 35 km and a Mb of 5.4, this earthquake can be moderately dangerous.
Houses of nearby villages are not earthquake proof, which can cause cracks in houses, and small damage in infrastructure.
As darkness is falling it can take several hours before we know more details on eventual damage.
The epicenter is located in the Dashtimaidonsky Nature Reserve, just a few km’s from the beginning of the Dam reservoir.
