Southern Iran – M 5.3 earthquake July 31 – update – 700 houses damaged in Negar

Earthquake Report update on the July 31 Magnitude 5.3 earthquake in Southern Iran
(This is the first news out of Iran more than 24 hours after the earthquake !) :

Most of the damage was in the town of Negar, in the Kerman province.

Excerpt of the Tehran times from August 1 :
There have been no reports of casualties but many homes have been damaged.Rescue teams have been dispatched to the stricken region from the neighboring cities, an official from Kerman’s Red Crescent said.20 percent of buildings have sustained 15 to 40 percent damages, the local official added.“Due to the town’s ancient structure, today’s earthquake damaged about 700 houses,” Ali Reza Kazemi, the mayor of Negar, told the IRNA news agency.

Remark of Earthquake Report:
Earthquake Report is not sure at all that all the details have been given.
The town of Baft was also very nearby and the given information does not look complete, no word on Baft.
If many houses were badly damaged, there must certainly be at least injured people.
As there are no independent journalists to report, we are cautious to believe the government reports.

Iran earthquakes from July 30 and 31 – Why is Iran covering up the damage ?

On July 30 a Magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck at the Northeastern part of the country.
On July 31 a Magnitude 5.3 earthquake struck at the Southern part of the country.

Both quakes have resulted in considerable damage and as a certainty wounded almost 300 people.

The state reporting on both quakes is unacceptable.
Some state controlled messages talk about 20 to 70% devastation in nearby villages + injured people taken out of the rubble.
The images we see are just wall cracks.
Why does Iran is covering up the real situation on both quakes ?

We assume that it won’t let the outside world look into their internal affairs.
We pledge that earthquake victims are kept out of politics !

Indonesia – M 5.0 – Moderate earthquake near the coast of Pulau Yu

A Magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck in the waters of the Halmahera Sea near the islands of Pulau Yu and Pulau Gebe.
Earthquakes are very common in this area and a Magnitude 5.0 has to be called almost normal.
